YORK — Two people were arrested on numerous charges after a York County SWAT team discovered bomb making materials, guns and drugs at a farmhouse south of Henderson.
York County Sheriff Dale Radcliff said his department obtained a search warrant after receiving information that illegal activity was taking place in a rental house at 120 Road 2.
“Because we knew the components of making bombs, explosives, were likely at the site, and the information indicated the person in question was likely using methamphetamine and was in possession of multiple firearms, we decided to use a SWAT team procedure,” Sheriff Radcliff said. “If someone is using methamphetamine and is armed, it could be a very dangerous situation.”

Novartis AG said it’s voluntarily recalling some over-the-counter products in the U.S., including its Excedrin headache pills and NoDoz medication, because they may contain broken or stray tablets from other products.
Novartis has temporarily suspended operations at the Lincoln, Nebraska, plant where the products were made, the company said in a statement today. The recall also affects its Bufferin and Gas-X Prevention brands.
The move comes after consumer complaints “of chipped and broken pills and inconsistent bottle packaging line clearance practices possibly resulting in mixed tablets,” the statement said. The over-the-counter medications were distributed throughout the U.S. …

Drug shortages in the U.S. are reaching unprecedented levels. So far in 2011, more than 200 different medications have been in shortage. The Food and Drug Administration maintains a revolving list of dozens of drugs that are in short supply. While President Obama has issued an executive order to try to remedy the situation, several medications continue to be hard to find in pharmacies across the country and in Nebraska …
